30 Jun 2008: The 2008-10 Batch will start by mid-Aug 2008. But you may start your learning right away without waiting for the sessions to start. Read the welcome message in the left-most column of this page.

Dear Students,

A warm welcome to ASB - your second home for the next two years.

As you have been briefed, the ASB's PGPM programme is challenging and demanding. To ensure that all incoming students have as smooth a start as possible, ASB has designed an  Induction Programme.

There are two major components of the programme - (1) Business Numeracy, and (2) Reading, Listening, Comprehension and Writing. Besides these, you will also get a general introduction to ASB, your faculty members, the business world, etc.

Keep visiting this page for updates and please work out the exercises suggested by the faculty. You are free to contact us. Just send in your messages/queries using the box provided at the bottom of this column.

Looking forward to the two years of enriched learning experience with you all :-)

Business Numeracy

(Co-ordinator: KG Satheesh Kumar)

Dear Student,

We could use the time till the formal commencement of our session, to revise some basic stuff. The suggested topics are listed below. I will also put some material and provide links. You may use high school text books or similar material to suppliment the information provided at the links.

If you need to interact with me at any stage, you are welcome to do that over email or chat. Just send me a message using the box provided at the top of the column to the left.

I would also suggest that you have a look at business magazines and try to understand the different aspects discussed there in terms of numbers - like sales revenue, growth, trends, distributions, ratios and so on. You could also look at graphs and charts on the performance of different sectors and companies..
